Grower Day - Wednesday 8th November 2017 - Register here for the Grower Day 

The VII International Symposium on Almond and Pistachio is offering a special Grower Day registration on Wednesday 8th November. Australian almond and pistachio growers are invited to come and listen to the latest research in orchard management and production, and talk to researchers who have come from around the world, face to face. There will also be many posters available to read on orchard related research, including such topics as effects of early harvest on almond kernel quality, potential of whole orchard recycling, evaluation of fertilizers on pistachio alternate bearing, effect of pollen parent on pistachio nut quality and many more.  

Cost: $250 Wednesday only -
includes entry to scientific sessions and displays, programmed morning and afternoon tea and lunch on Wednesday, conference satchel, program and meeting abstracts.

CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations must be advised in writing to the Conference Secretariat by 20 October 2017. There is an $150 cancellation fee. Refunds will only be issued in exceptional circumstances after this date, but substitute delegates are acceptable.

PAYMENT OF FEES

Payment can be made by credit card (via secure online registration only).  Please contact the Secretariat electronic banking transfer details.  All fees are in Australian Dollars.

All registrations will be acknowledged in writing. If you do not receive a written acknowledgement upon the completion of your online registration, please contact the Secretariat to ensure that your details have been received.

We suggest you make a copy of this form for your own records. Registrations will only be acknowledged once payment has been received.

FEDERAL GOODS & SERVICES TAX (GST)
Australia has a Federal Goods and Services Tax (GST) of 10%. Overseas delegates are not exempt from paying this tax. All fees and costs quoted in the brochure are GST inclusive. The Meeting People Trust T/A The Meeting People Pty Ltd is registered for GST - the ABN is 14 568 939 746. Upon payment online you will receive a tax invoice. 

LIABILITY
In case of industrial disruption or other external events causing disruption to the meeting, the Local Organising Committee, the ISAP Committee and the Meeting Managers of the Symposium accepts no responsibility for loss of monies incurred by delegates.

PRIVACY
Personal information, as defined under the national privacy legislation, The Privacy Act 1993 (New Zealand), will be treated in accordance with the National Privacy Principles and only shared with related or third parties in accordance with those principles.

The Registration Desk will be located on the mezzanine level in the Foyer of the Hotel Grand Chancellor on Hindley and will open at the following times during the meeting:

Cocktail Reception

Cost:  Included with full registration.  Extra tickets: $60 per ticket.

A great networking opportunity that will allow you to catch up with colleagues and mingle with delegates attending the meeting. The welcome reception will be held at the conference venue and you will get up close and personal with some of Australia’s wildlife.

Included in full and student registration. Additional tickets for accompanying persons can be purchased at $60.

Welcome Reception at the Adelaide Town Hall

Date:  Monday 6 November 2017
Time:  6.00pm – 7.00 pm
Venue: Adelaide Town Hall
Cost:  Included with full registration.  Limited extra tickets for accompanying people will be available closer to the time of the event.

Gala Dinner

Date:  Wednesday 8 November 2017
Dinner: 7.00 for 7.30 – 10.00 pm
Venue: Mortlock Chamber of the State Library of South Australia, North Terrace, Adelaide
Cost: $130 per ticket

The conference dinner will be in the historic Mortlock Chamber at the State Library of South Australia.

Tickets will be $130 per person and include dinner, drinks and entertainment. N.B. This function is not included in the full registration.

Field Day – Tuesday 7th November

We will visit an almond orchard and a new processing facility in the Riverland region. We will then go to the Barossa Valley and visit one of the iconic wineries in the region, Seppeltsfield.

Post Conference Tour Information - Limited to 15 participants.

Friday 10th November to Sunday 12th November (returning early evening)

A post-conference tour will be held from Friday 10th Nov starting at 8am to Sunday 12th Nov arriving back into Adelaide in the early evening. The price ($520) includes bus travel, lunches, accommodation and a river cruise. Dinner will be at participants expense.

Itinerary:

Friday, leave Adelaide 8am and will include a visit to a large Pistachio orchard in Pinnaroo, travelling via Tailem Bend, followed by lunch in Loxton, then a tour of AlmondCo at Renmark, one of the largest almond processing plants in Australia. Accommodation that night will be in Renmark.

Saturday, leave Renmark to visit Lindsay Point where the almond breeding program has experimental orchards. Lunch will be in Mildura, followed by the river cruise for 2 hours. Free afternoon in Mildura. Accommodation in Mildura.

Sunday, leave Mildura to visit Agromillora at Irymple, then a visit to CMV farms pistachio orchard at Robinvale. Return to Adelaide to arrive by early evening.
